New Volume Standard for MP3 Players to Avoid Side Effects of Prolonged Use

The standard for the volume of your favorite mp3 players will be changed under European Commission proposals. The main intention of this new reduced volumes were to anticipates the dangers caused by high volume and prolonged use of headphones or earplugs that may damages the hearing of mp3 player users.

The proposed decibel levels were reduced from 100 to 80 decibels, and this standard should be applied in new music players. All of this decided through a report by EU scientific committee that 10 percent of mp3 player user having the risk of permanent hearing loss if they listen to loud music everyday within 5 years. Well, to be honestly, I think that our health was our own responsibility. And to listen a song in loud volume, why would you do that, it will ruin the song I think :)
