Dual Core Processor for Faster Netbook Performance
Even though netbooks were often rated to have slow performance with lousy keyboard by laptop or desktop fanatics, their sales were really hot whenever there was an exhibition in my area. The selling point netbooks has is due to their cheap prices, small form factor and sufficient performance for someone that their computer activity is only about chatting, browsing and social networking. But Intel seems like never give up on giving their Atom processors a “power up”, since they scheduled an update into bringing dual core processor into netbooks. Some source on Intel, the one that manufactures Atom processors, a new dual core Atom will be coming to market by the end of June.
Single core Atom processor in netbooks is good to maintain a long battery life, unfortunately it’s hard to say that it have a good performance. With the multitasking behavior of today’s PC users, the coming of Dual Core processor will push the netbooks to decrease performance gap compared to laptops. Well, Atom processors netbooks may never been designed to be in the same capability of a laptop performance. Their selling point is always been the cheap price and longer battery life, to make up for that, their performance is lowered. But then again, having said that a dual core processor will power new netbooks is still felt like a breeze for their buyer, hoping for a more powerful netbooks like Asus 1215N Dual Core Netbooks
